Johannesburg - Human trafficking workshops will be conducted in Mpumalanga to teach schoolchildren about the scourge, the provincial education department said on Tuesday.
"All educators, learners and non-teaching personnel must be on alert with regards to child trafficking," it said in a statement.
"School management teams and educators are urged to maintain constant contact with parents and to closely monitor attendance and the movement of learners."
The department also urged teachers to educate children on how to protect themselves from potential threats.
The workshops will be conducted from Tuesday until Thursday next week.
