Johannesburg - ANC Youth League President, Julius Malema arrived to a hero's welcome in Harare with Zanu-PF members singing his "Dubul ibhunu" song, the Saturday Star reported.

Flanked by his delegation and several Zanu-PF officials and businessmen, Malema was surprised on hearing the song from Zanu-PF supporters.

Malema smiled, clapped his hands and started nodding in approval as members of his delegation joined in, the newspaper said.

This was a few hours after AfriForum succeeded in obtaining an interdict in the High Court in Pretoria stopping Malema from singing the song.

The court on Thursday ruled that Malema could not sing the song until AfriForum's hate speech application began in the Equality Court.

The ANC said it was disappointed by the court's ruling and was planning to approach the Constitutional Court to challenge a separate ruling by a judge who also prevented the singing of the song.

This was in favour of an application by Delmas businessman Willem Harmse.
