THE case of the two accused in the Baby Marzanne Kruger assault was remanded in the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court today (July 26).
Geraldt Nyantumbo, 28, and Nelson Maphosa, 28, were accused of brutally assaulting two-year-old Baby Kruger in a robbery at the Kruger family home in Robindale on Easter Saturday.
The baby lost her sight as a result of the attack.
Her minder Francina Sekhu was also badly beaten.
A third suspect, Chakhoma Machaba, 28, was still at large and believed to be in Mozambique.
The state requested the case be postponed until August 30 for further investigation saying DNA tests needed to be done.
Blood from Baby Kruger had been drawn for these tests. – Sapa
