THREE people were arrested in Tawuka village, Flagstaff, for allegedly being in possession of illegal firearms and ammunition, Eastern Cape police said today (June 18).
The first man, aged 37, was found with a revolver with five rounds of ammunition late last night, said Lieutenant Colonel Mzukisi Fatyela.
“The serial number was filed off,” he said.
Also arrested in the same village yesterday was a man and a woman, both aged 27, who were found in possession of an AK47 rifle with 13 rounds of ammunition.
“They will all appear in the Flagstaff Magistrate’s Court on Monday, facing charges of being in possession of illegal firearms and ammunition,” said Fatyela. – Sapa
